Specific requirements
Grisons requires 2 years of cantonal and municipal residence. The required language depends on your municipality: German (B1) in most of the canton, Romansh or Italian in certain valleys (Engadine, Mesolcina).
Civics exam
Covers federal and cantonal institutions, history (Three Leagues, joined Confederation in 1803), the trilingual specificity, and geography (Rhine, Inn and Ticino all rise in Grisons).
Procedure and timelines
File at the municipality, then the Migration and Civil Law Office. Expect 12 to 30 months depending on the municipality.
